The product works well. It isn't top of the line, but Avanti's are used in hotels, so they should be reliable, as one reviewer said. Their price is reasonable. It defrosts and reheats well. Avanti customer service knows their products, and they want their customers to be happy. This may be due to operator error, but the microwave sometimes thinks the time you set on the clock is how long you want to cook something. I haven't figured this out but will ask customer service about it. If you've seen them in hotels, you know what they look like. It isn't exciting to look at but not unattractive. As well, I have a 9-inch, which doesn't take up too much counter space. It defrosts and heats my food well. If the instructions say defrost or cook in a certain time, it follows the directions. This microwave seems fine for my needs. I want it to do it's job and last awhile. For the price, it seems adequate. This is a very compact microwave, if you're looking for one to fit in a tight spot. That's the reason we purchased it. However, after owning it less than three months, a couple of things are starting to bug me. The plastic coating on the push button panel started to loosen and bubble up almost immediately. Then, this past week, something has started to happen with the turntable, where it emits a slow, tortured squeal as it goes around. It's downright mournful, and so loud that my husband can hear it from our back yard. I've owned microwaves for over 30 years now, and I've never heard anything like it. I can't really recommend this microwave unless you can get it at a price that's too good to pass up.Its pretty consistent and reliable, just make sure you know its 700W. Before getting this I assumed most were 1100W so it took me by surprise when I had to cook things for longer than expected. Its a decent price but the lack of power tempers my enthusiasm a bit. This brand I recognized also from stays in hotels, so I assumed they are reliable. The power is not great, but good enough to be a big convenience. Very useful for a single person in a small space. I have it on top of a grip liner so it doesn't move at all when I push buttons or open the door. I only wish the volume of the beeping could be adjustable, but I'll live. I does all that good stuff microwaves do.I loved the size, but the power level is so poor on this unit that heating things takes three times as long. It simply is not powerful enough to be useful for even small items such as oatmeal or heating water. The control panel is also poor in the tactile feel of the membrane push button switches as you end up having to press the start button multiple times in different areas for it it start. Great concept, but poor usability.very handy when I want to cook but not willing to use burnersWorks pretty good. However, it came severely dented.Pulled it out of the box, plugged it in and tried to heat up a 1/2 cup of coffee. 3-4 trials and 10 minutes later, we still had cold coffee. Called the manufacturer to ask if we we missed a step, nope. btw - not even a "that's too bad" or "we are sorry" from them. Everything about it worked, except heating up food! At least the seller expressed some sympathy.
