This Lenox Holiday Neauveau Waste Basket fit the bill for "just the thing I wished for at Christmas", at least, for the guest bath. I had a lovely ceramic one in there, but it was broken during cleaning (that is a whole story unto itself); however, let it suffice to say that at the Christmas Holdiday of 2012 I was in need of a new waste basket for my guest bathroom!I love Christmas. It is a time of the year, when, good or bad, we all know that we can be redeemed from out sins. We all smile and are gay, and should probably act that way all year. It is a great, happy time of the year. I like a bit of a reminder here and there. In the front of the house, I still go to some trouble to decorate and make people welcome. So, when I saw this waste can, I REALLY WANTED to order it. I dilly dallied around "because it was a Christmas item, and did I want to spend the money for a "Christmas Item" that would shortly be put away. After a bit of thought, I decided "Yes" and decided to let January take care of itself...a time when I would need a "regular basket."I was SO GLAD that I decided to go ahead and get this. It is typical Lenox....staid and traditional and beautiful. (I note that they have a "Younger pattern" out this year. But, this Holly Pattern and a Bird Pattern are the ones that I still associate with Lenox and the Holidays. The reds and greens in this sparkle and shine with a boost from added gold trim. The ceramic is as heavy as I had expected it to be....I do not think it will smash from one absent minded "pop" against the counter. It is large and beautiful. Plenty of room for the paper tip towels all your guests will drop in it. My guest bathroom trash can does not get heavy use. It is truly a decorative piece and I am very pleased with it.Perhaps next year I will get some of the other bathroom pieces to go with it. But for this year, I am quite happy with what I have. It is a good piece to start with. Makes a statement all on its own. So if you are like me and are dithering, go ahead and buy. I like the fact that you can intermingle Lenox Holiday and Holiday Nouveau products so seamlessly.After receiving the matching soap dispenser, I went back and ordered the wastebasket and soap dish. Elegant and simply stunning!Beautiful addition to my Lenox Holiday Collection.I just had to have this & it was worth the buy! Still going strong, love it! will buy again if need to.
